RAIDS
Our raiding efforts will be different from the ‘traditional’ way.
Paranoid does not have fixed raiding teams. We want to give everyone a chance to experience the game content and we’ll rotate players as much as possible. We trust our members to be pro-active in this, in the sense that if they have done several raids with the guild, they’ll step aside for someone who for example doesn’t have as much play time.
Also, if we have 13 people wanting to raid, three players could sit a couple of bosses out and then swap with three others. We will raid to enjoy the game, not to be the one with the most boss kills to his/her name. It’ll take longer than the traditional methods, yes, but we refuse to treat it as a race.
While it is possible we will have one or two fixed raiding nights in the future, this doesn’t mean you can’t raid at any other time. All members can set up events, so if you’d like to set up a day-time or late-night raid, you can. Just remember that people will get locked into a planned raid and will not be able to join if you plan that same raid that week.
DROPS
Any items that drop, will be rolled for. First rolls are for main-specs, highest roll wins the item. If no one wants the gear for their main-spec, there will be an off-spec roll.
For those who, like me in the not-so-distant past, have no clue how to roll, you just type /roll in your chat line. Never will I forget the embarrassing moment in Vault of Archavon, where I had to /w a complete stranger and admit I didn’t know how to roll for gear. So there ya go.
Anyone who wants to farm gear for their off-spec, can of course set up a raid for this purpose. As long as you are honest about wanting the gear, no one will mind helping you out if they can. All members can set up events for this via the in-game calendar.
REQUIREMENTS
While there are some addons that definitely help while raiding, we don’t require you to install them. We also don’t ask that you read tactics or watch videos for encounters; it doesn’t even help a lot of people anyway.
All we ask is that you are there to have fun. And if your fun runs out, you can stop for the night and try again some other time. If you raid longer than you really want to, it becomes a chore and we hate chores in this guild.
